Richmond Virginia Kids Photographer

And the winner is!
I had the pleasure of working with the winner of the Red Haired Beauties, kids photography contest this weekend.
The weather couldn't have been more perfect for our Richmond, VA session. I just love photographing kids and he was such fun to work with. I love it when a child isn't camera shy too. Plus that hair is just beautiful. Not to mention who can resist grinning back at a toothless kid. So thank you to Carrie and her son for spending the time with me. You guys were great!

It's not to late to get your kids in for spring photo sessions. Contact me today before the lovely spring Virginia weather gives way to the heat of summer.

Hello 2012!

Hello Richmond!
I hope that all of you had a wonderful holiday season. I know I did. I got to spend time with my mom, who happens to be one of my favorite people, my kids, my husband, again on that list o’ faves, and many of my friends. I feel completely fortunate to be surrounded by so many really fantastic people. I seriously love my life. This has been such a great year.

I want to thank each and every one of my clients who’ve all helped to make 2011 such a strong year. It was this time last year that I branched off Ginger CurryPhotography from 422 Studio (my beauty line). I’ve seen excellent growth in this line of my work and I am certain it will continue in 2012. Ginger Curry Photography has really exciting projects in the works for 2012. We’ll be offering more unique products, outstanding themed sessions for kids and families, new product packages and new “growing family” packages. As if that is not enough, you’ll see that our creative fee for most sessions is also lower this year.  As always the best way to find out about upcoming sessions is to subscribe to this blog and “like” Ginger Curry Photography on Facebook. You can also follow me on Twitter, so many convenient ways to stay in touch.

First up for 2012 sessions is actually one for the grownups. Valentine’s Day is on the horizon so this year we are celebrating Cupid and Psyche with a session especially for couples. Seasoned or Fresh out of the gate this session is an intimate opportunity for a couple to come together and proclaim to the world “I still really dig this person”. Whether you’ve been together for 1 year or 50 a couples session is a genuine pleasure. It’s a chance for the two of you to focus on the foundation of your life together and to honor the love that compels you each passing day, year and sometimes minute.

Plus!!! Book by February 10th and receive one beautifully edited 5x7 mounted print with your session. There is a session fee of $150, see details at the bottom of this post. It’s the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for any couple.

Now for some pictures from a recent couples sessions:

The details:
This session can be scheduled for a later date but the creative fee must be received by 2-10-2012 to receive the mounted print free with session fee. Additional prints and products may be purchased separately. Couples sessions are done at the location of your choosing, any location fees are the responsibility of the couple. May not be used for family sessions so leave the kiddo's with Grandma.

Family Christmas Sessions

As my family sessions for 2011 come to an end I'm happy to share some of them with you all. This year has been so busy and exciting for me. Ginger Curry Photography has really started to take on a life of it's own and it's been a real pleasure to meet and work with so many families this year. I'm excited for what next year will bring too. I've got so many ideas for session themes that I just can't wait to start sharing.

The first session theme I'll be working on will be the Snow Sessions. This year when we get a good snow I'll be doing family photo shoots. If you'd like to be on the call list please send me an email with your contact information in it saying that you'd like to be added to the snow session list. That way you and your family will get the call when the snow starts falling. Grab a sled, hat and mittens and get ready for a completely unique session. Obviously this hinges on whether or not we get any snow but I'm sure we will. You can email me at ginger@gingercurryphotography.com or call 804-833-0888 to be added to the list.

And now for some pictures from some of my recent Christmas sessions.

Oh Baby!

My job is fantastic, I'm fortunate in that, but some of the things that I get to call work are just more fun than any one person should get to have at "work". Take newborn sessions for instance. I LOVE babies. If I had a nanny, housekeeper, cook, chauffeur and someone to do my laundry I'd have kept having more babies myself. Since I don't have all of those things the next best thing for me to do is photograph them.  They are all so different and all so perfect. This beautiful newborn girl is no exception. I'm very happy that I got to photograph this sweet little one. Congrats to her lucky mom and dad.

Family Photos

As we are getting into fall around here I thought I'd post a family session from the end of summer. One of my personal favorite locations. This place was so beautiful, and it's someone's back yard. Wow! I only wish I had that sort of gardening skills. Just so you all know I do have just a few openings for outdoor, location family photo sessions around Virginia. This is the best time of year to catch all of that color and warmth. The best fall leaves should be the last week of October and first week of November. Contact me today to see what I still have available.

Summers end.

Between friends and family coming to visit and a short list of natural disasters I'll be honest, blogging this summer has been the last thing on my mind. We weathered Irene and are now back to full power and internet. The kids return to school next week and then the coveted routine sets in. It's kinda funny how I would have never considered myself a "routine" favoring gal but now with 4 kids, hubby and business I crave routine. So after labor day I'll be catching up on the blogs and loading up some new pictures to the website. Stay tuned!

I'll also be announcing our holiday Mini and various fall projects in the next few weeks. So stay tuned!

PS
I hope all of my East Coast fans are settled back in from the last few weeks of mother nature reminding us who's really in charge. I hope your families and friends are all safe.
